Dear Joan, so sorry to hear of your loss. We are both saddened to hear of Bryan's passing.We both enjoyed our conversations with you & Bryan at St. Mark's. Mum also enjoyed Bryan's input at the Bible studies on Thursdays at St. Mark's. Bryan put up a good fight, his positive attitude,smile & that twinkle in his eyes will be forever in our memories. Dear Joan and family, I was so sorry to hear of Bryan's illness and his recent passing. My heart goes out to you in your time of grief, and I offer my sincere condolences. I fondly remember Bryan as a first- class theatre arts teacher and stage director at Erindale Secondary School in the early 1970s. I recall his ever-cheerful demeanor and ability to motivate and inspire, and how he gave of himself so generously to coach and mentor his students. I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of the best English teacher I ever had. Mr Harris was so full of humour and dedication, but one of the toughest teachers there was. He made everyone around him better.

What a brave fight Uncle Bryan! It does not surprise me as you were always up for any challenge in life and faced it head on with your beautiful and courageous partner, Auntie Joan. We have the fondest memories of a brother and brother in law ranging from Childhood in Groby through Coalville Grammar School, singing with both the Harris and Abell family members in St Margarets Church Choir, following Neil to study in Durham then marriage to Joan with eventual immigration to Canada. I remember in the 1990's when Bryan and Joan retired from the choir at Westminster United Church, and Bryan gave a heartfelt request to the congregation for more men to sing bass in the choir and help to fill his old part. He had a wonderful, rich voice, but needed to stop singing to preserve it. (Joan directed 2 of our sons in the handbell choir, and I still ring those bells.)
