HIND, DONALD THOMAS 1930-2016
On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Donald Thomas Hind in Orangeville ON.
Donald, affectionately known to most as “Joe”, was born in Windsor on November 11, 1930, loving husband and best friend of Dolores (nee Patterson) his "Pee Wee" for 62 years. Beloved and cherished father to Mary Jo (Fred), Carrie, Tom (Wendy). Son of the late Harry and Ruth Hind. Youngest brother of the late Ruth (Ken Heath), Bill (Muriel) and Henry “Hap” (Maisie). Adored grandfather to Alex and Kees, Thomas and Cameron, Bryar, Ally and Riley. Survived by his Sister-in-law Carol (Dick) and the Howitt family and Brother-in-law Wayne (Deborah) and the Patterson family. “Joe" will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews as well as many friends and neighbours.
“Joe” graduated from Biology at Western University. He began his career in the advertising department of Chrysler Canada then worked in the Graphic Arts Industry until his retirement.
He had a passion for sailing, woodworking and handy work and would often be found tinkering for hours in the barn of his beloved hobby farm "Hindsite" in Mono Township, ON.

Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 5 First Ave., Orangeville on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at Monora Park Pavilion, 500 Monora Park Rd., Mono, ON.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation Treasurer, 9131 118th St.,
Edmonton, AB T6G 1T1 (www.canlyme.com) would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of "Joe" in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
